This summer sees the arrival of an exciting new artist, Brazilian born Alissic, who is already creating waves across the globe. Today, she releases her first single ‘Like’ via Ministry Of Sound.
Alissic originally self-released ‘Like’ in November of 2020 and quickly racked up over 1.2m Spotify streams, alongside her 450k Instagram and Tiktok followers. The self directed video for the single has accumulated over 500k views to date and has whet the appetite of an army of new fans including Annie Mac and singer YungBlud.
The track’s experimental sound showcases the avant-pop newcomer's soft, atmospheric vocals.
Alissic adds “‘Like’ is a song about embracing your deepest emotions, both the good and the bad, in order to find the source of them. This song is a reminder to myself to always question my emotions.”
Having grown up in the very small town of São Bento do Sapucaí in Brazil, Alissic spent most of her time as a vigilante, protecting frogs from salt attacks. She played her first instrument aged 7, the recorder, before moving onto the xylophone which she played in front of her first live audience at the anniversary of São Bento, performing a rendition of the pink panther theme tune. At 13 she was scouted by a model agency and left education to take on modelling full time. At 24 she has returned to her first love, music.
‘Like’ is the first of a series of releases from Alissic, which will open the door into her Universe.
