Lauren Jauregui Releases New Song 'Temporary'

“TEMPORARY” APPLE MUSIC | | ITUNES | SPOTIFY Today, one of pop’s most loved singer-songwriters and performers, Lauren Jauregui returns with the release of “Temporary,” a powerful new song addressing the important issue of mental health. The song was released in conjunction with ‘Sound It Out,’ a new national campaign from The Ad Council, that seeks to use music in helping middle school kids and their caregivers have open, honest conversations about mental health and their well-being. Lauren wrote the song as a tribute to a deeply moving conversation she had with a middle school student named Anna. Speaking about the song, Lauren reveals, “I’m so grateful to Ad Council and the Sound It Out project for having me be a part of such a necessary conversation. I would say it’s the time we’re in but I feel as though my parents, my grandparents and great grandparents would’ve benefited greatly from these kind of conversations around mental health when they were kids. The stigmas are only ever going to go away if we talk about it and I’m grateful to have been able to express how I feel and to have had such an open, honest conversation with Anna and her mom about our experiences. I hope others feel as warm listening to it as we felt making it.” The arrival of “Temporary” marks the first taste of new music from Lauren in 2021, with more new music on the way. Last year, Lauren released two beautiful bilingual tracks celebrating family and her roots, “50ft” (Watch the video HERE) and “Lento”, the latter of which was produced by two-time GRAMMY® Award winning Tainy, who also features on the track and in the video. Embracing Lauren’s Cuban American heritage, “Lento” spawned two remixes including one featuring Brazilian megastar Pabllo Vittar (LISTEN). Watch the official music video for “LentoHERE. Earlier this Spring, Lauren Jauregui kicked off Season two of HBO’s A Tiny Audience, with an intimate performance, including beautiful live renditions of her songs “Expectations,” “50ft” and a rousing cover of “La Tirana” by Cuban singer La Lupe. The performance is currently available on demand via HBO Max. Watch the trailer HERE. Singer, writer, performer, expresser, Lauren Jauregui has always known her own path. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, her Grandparents and Mother immigrated in the 1960’s from Cuba to the United States where Jauregui first started her musical career at just 16, becoming a member of the internationally acclaimed group Fifth Harmony. Touring the world, earning multiple awards and nominations both as a solo artist and in the group, Lauren Jauregui has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest artists and producers and continues to amass millions of global streams. Since the group parted ways in 2018, Lauren has spent most of her time in the studio, writing and recording, as she prepares for the next chapter of her solo career; making music that comes from the heart and that speaks her truth. In 2020 —right before the world shut down— Lauren released her most recent singles, with accompanying official music videos; ‘Lento’ ft. Tainy and ‘50ft.’ Both went on to garner millions of combined global streams, and joined her already impressive solo catalogue and releases; ‘Expectations’ (written by her and produced by Kid Harpoon), and 'More Than That' (produced by Murda Beatz). Outside of the studio, Lauren has spent much of her career engaging on a variety of social and global issues. As an insightful, curious, independent thinker and healer; she continues to use her platform to advocate for human rights and share her own journey and truth through her art, “a self-exploration through this human experience,” Lauren explains. Lauren Jauregui’s energy is currently focused on creating "beautiful healing art" as she continues to grow and find her own sonic voice, and is currently working on new material with plans to release more music very soon. On the horizon, an EP is nearing completion and an album is piecing itself together.
