The Art of Bansky comes to London

After welcoming more than 750,000 visitors worldwide in Melbourne, Tel Aviv, Auckland, Toronto, Gothenburg and more, The Art of Bansky has finally come to London.

The location could’ve been different, yeah, the building in Covent Garden looked cool but not as edgy and underground as Bansky actually is. I would’ve probably chosen a warehouse or unused underground station or a tunnel. Bansky is more provocative than a normal central location. However, the pieces you can admire are incredible and it was crazy to see them in real life after seeing them online or at souvenir shops in Camden Town as postcards and keyrings.

Located in the heart of London, the exhibition features iconic works such as ‘Girl and Balloon’, ‘Flower Thrower’ and ‘Rude Copper’ alongside some of Banksy’s lesser known masterpieces. Banksy is most infamous for his outdoor art which can be found in streets all around the world. Banksy’s indoor pieces - original and unique works on canvas, wood and paper - have been less exposed and are also on display at this exhibition.

The exhibition takes you around Bansky’s life from the beginning of his career through Dreamland, his music collaborations on albums artworks to pranking Paris Hilton. He’s definitely living a different life for a person whose face is still unknown after a long time, but it doesn’t matter. Bansky has been able to re-launch street art and has also been able to enter our homes and museum with his masterpiece whilst denouncing the corruption within politics as well as people’s attachment to social media and money.
