ANASTÁZIE & The Musa have joined forces to collaborate on their brand new EP, Fleeting Visit which came out on the 12th January 2024. Consisting of 4 tracks, this is probably one of the most creative, vibrant and radiant pieces of work you will ever come across as it is a fusion of different styles and influences which flow so naturally and perfectly together.
The EP begins with the opening track HAJIME. If you think ANASTÁZIE & The Musa are going to ease you in, well you better guess again because from the outside they do not hold back from allowing their ability to embrace their thirst for exploring their creative boundaries and inviting us listeners to take a step in to their world to take that world them. To me HAJIME feels like such a celebratory song, because it has a ambiance to it which reminds me of being at a carnival, and I just love how much rhythm it has.
From HAJIME we then move onto TEMPTATION. Bringing a whole different energy, this track is a great opportunity to hear the powerful and soulful vocals of ANASTÁZIE, with lyrics that just leave a footprint in your mind. The melody within TEMPTATION is really intricate with a mixture of soul, afrobeat, a little bit of jazz working in such perfect harmony together. It is clear that this is a song where a lot of thought has gone into the structure, which makes you really appreciate it even more.
Half way through, and already I am convinced more than ever that ANASTÁZIE & The Musa have provided music fans like me with such an creatively enlightening EP. I feel so lucky being able to to listen to Fleeting Visit.
Next up is JUNGLE, and with this track you can really get a sense of ANASTÁZIE & The Musa pushing themselves even more. You have all those different styles such as afrobeats, R&B, and even a touch of grime too. ANASTÁZIE has such a naturally powerful voice, and in my opinion it comes to life even more on this track where you can really get a sense of both ANASTÁZIE & The Musa really feeling the energy, being in the ‘zone’ and loving every moment of it as they allow the goodness of JUNGLE to just flow, flow, flow.
After three brilliant tracks, Fleeting Visit comes to a close with the final track WILDNESS, which is also probably one of my favourite tracks on the EP. This track again like others is so wholesome and soulful with plenty of rhythm to grab your attention. Not only will you enjoy the track as a whole, but you can’t really feel a special bond with the lyrics, because when you listen really closely to them its so good to see how ANASTÁZIE just includes a touch of assertiveness into the mix which is really empowering to hear especially with lines like ‘give me the time of the day, by the end of the night you won’t have nothing to say’.
As WILDNESS ends, it has definitely left me on a cliff hanger where already I am eager to experience more of ANASTÁZIE & The Musa great music in my life. What I really appreciate about this EP is how each four tracks are creatively unique, and serves as an eye opening moment when you witness the exciting things which can be achieved when collaboration is part of the equation. Both ANASTÁZIE & The Musa’s styles work so perfectly together, and I sure hope this is the start of even more great things to come.
