It was 3 years ago when American singer-songwriter B. Miles released any music, but to the excitement of fans old and new, the prodigal daughter of music is back with some fresh and exciting music for 2023.

Like many within the music industry, the dawn of the global Covid-19 pandemic put a spanner in the works for many, especially those within the music industry, and while we are a little further on, the traces of that impact still linger to this day.

However in the case of B. Miles, this was an opportunity to really re-focus herself and her identity as an artist, and with her latest single Backseat Lovers, this sees B. Miles taking even more of a raw, open and honest approach to her music, which I love because it is a song which is very cut and dry and lyrically is bold but equally cut and dry.

I can see many music fans resonate with the context of Backseat Lovers even maybe feeling similar things as they reflect upon their own relationships. While a drifting relationship may normally make you feel sad, this song is not intended to bring you tears, but instead create a space where you can just be open with the way you feel without worrying about the repercussions. Coming face to face with all those emotions, accepting them for what they are but approaching them with a sense of strength and truthfulness.
