Combining the four-to-the-floor energy of bassline garage with pitched-up vocals and imposing dubstep wobbles, ‘Endlessly’ is a certified bass fusion banger.
It marks Freekill’s fourth single release of the new decade, following on from ‘Bloodclad’, a collaboration with Dutch EDM producer Out of Cookies, and ‘Countdown’ and ‘Raise The Level’, both with fellow Frenchman Mystykal Kut.
Just 23 years of age, Freekill is at the forefront of a new generation of French electronic artists after getting support from Skrillex, Diplo and The Chainsmokers, Major Lazor and performing at Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas and more.
We caught up with him and here's what he told us.
From the stages of Ultra and EDC, whats next for Freekill?
Now, I want to share more music to my people, as they can enter my world a 100%.
"Endlessly" has just come out, how did you prepare for such a track?
I prepared myself for a year. I was thinking that It was the time, after all that wait, to release some new music, and this was the best song to do my return.
Being an upcoming artist, what does inspire you?
Honestly I am inspired by the goats like Skrillex, DJ SNAKE, that my biggest inspiration, but I am also inspired by hip hop a lot. I was raised by hiphop music so I am very close to this genre.
France is well known for great artists in this scene like DJ Snake or Tchami, what do you love the most about your country?
I love the artistic side of our country, we got big names in the history of art, from Daft Punk to LVMH, you know that when it is french, It’ll probably be dope!
Speaking of other artists, you collaborated with Mystykal Kut from France but also Major Lazer ..
With Mystykal it was fine because that was my friend, with Major Lazer we did everything online, cause we were on tour in China and they were on tour too. But that happened because my friend LeKid just sent a snippet of what we were doing on Ableton, and Walshy went crazy over it. After a few months of work, It became "King Of The Party".
What is your dream stage? Where would you love to perform?
I got 2 dream stage : Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas.
What are you looking forward to the most?
To see myself headline one of those big places.
