Chris Polska Invites You To The Genre of ‘thrash music’

Every now and then its always good to take yourself out of your comfort zone and open your mind to something new, so today we introduce you to the intriguing music of Chris Portka and his new vinyl record entitled thrash music.

Centred around a genre that Chris has been developing over the years, thrash music contains 12 tracks to challenges your senses and make your see the art of music in a new light. Revolutions don’t just happen with pre-existing concepts, they are also created when artists like Chris Polka are having the courage and the confidence to share their life’s passions and share it with the world.

The record begins with to burn him up, is it too much to bear? which sees Chris really putting his creative juices to good use from the outset, afterall a drop of boldness is good for the soul. Being honest at first you may find the track over stimulating which is just a natural reaction when exposed to something new, but once you have given your mind a moment to adjust, you soon find yourself more curious and intrigued by the sonic landscape which Chris is introducing to.

By the time you move on to wildlife then you find yourself pleasantly surprised to be drawn in by a song which has a bit of rhythm and a really good beat to it - there was certainly a bit of foot tapping and shoulder shuffling going on at my end ha! I love the fact that if you hear closely Chris also modestly incorporates some vocals which thinking about it helps to round up the track nicely.

Our first and second tracks are short in length, just over a minute each which is all part of the build up, because its later in the album with songs like dream factory where we see Chris Polka really shining in his element. It's actually one of my most favourite songs on the record because we have the perfect balance of great lyrics containing depth combined with the new genre of thrash music. I will go as far to say when I heard dream factory I felt a big smile on my face, as in that moment I felt so proud of Chris, like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon, whereby the end I am humming along to the words ‘everything is going to be ok, everything is going to be ok’.

Sometimes with songs over 6 minutes long my attention can go out the window, but dream factory kept my focus throughout to the point where the clock watching was irrelevant because in that moment all that mattered was the experience.

Another good track to highlight would be we’re in this together, whereby the experimental nature adds to the songs appeal. I feel like I am stepping into Chris Polka’s mind as I witness his creativity unfolding. we’re in this together. Yes, it has thrash music genre as part of its DNA but the way this song is presented is done in such a beautiful and organic way that is leaving me inspired.

I wish I could tell you about each and every other song on this record, but you know what I will leave that for you to discover for yourself. thrash music has been an enjoyable experience as I have progressed through the album. The song titles themselves are just as fascinating and add to the overall aesthetic.

All I can do is applaud and give my thanks to Chris Polksa for sharing his creation with the world, and as an artist I wholeheartedly believe that he is someone who has an abundance of talent to offer the world of music and it all starts with the album, thrash music. Go give it a listen right now.
