Hailing from North Carolina, hard rock band ENDOXA have released their EP, A Collection of Songs to Listen to At the End of the World, which was released on 30th December 2023, seeing the band transitioning from 2023 to 2024 in style. Consisting of 4 tracks, the EP gives music fans the chance to really get a taste for who ENDOXA are - a band not afraid to take risks and mix things up with their creative boundaries.
With that said, lets take a little closer look at the EP for ourselves, starting with the opening track Magnetic. A nice gentle steady start, but don’t be fooled because within a few seconds the song builds momentum and packs a punch, before we are met with vocals of the band’s front man. This track is an example of a good hearty rock track, and what I love about it is the clean vocals because it allows you to really focus on the lyrics, and helps to set the tone for the rest of the EP.
From this track we move nicely on to The Winner of Fucking Nothing, and we are eased nicely into such a well constructed metalcore track which we see a range of different styles ranging from clean vocals in the first part of the song the truly incredible post-hardcore brilliance of the second part of the song. The energy is intense and I love how through out the track you can get a sense of that same energy building momentum before being fully unleashed.
The third track After All This Time Always is the more tame track from the whole EP, but that is a good thing, because it allows you to really see how the band are really pushing themselves when it comes to their song writing, and is even more of a chance to appreciate the cool hearty clean vocals.
Saving the best to last, the EP comes to a close with the final track Knob, and I think as a song this encapsulates all the different creative strengths that ENDOXA have as a band, where we see all their different dynamic sides from the brilliant song writing which captures your imagination, to the impactful metalcore vibes of the overall song, such as those killer riff and breakdowns and of course not forgetting the mix of clean and unclean vocals.
Having listened to all 4 tracks, I can certainly say that this EP offers so much variety for any music fan, and as I mentioned before is a good opportunity to see some of the different sides which constitute the DNA of ENDOXA. If anything, these four songs as a collective will leave you hungry for more. Available on all major platforms, be sure to check out the brand new EP today.
