Turquoise Carpet & Day 1 Dress Rehearsal for 1st Semi-Final

The city of Liverpool has embraced and embodied the spirit of Eurovision 2023 with very element of its heart and soul. Celebrations and events over the past month around Liverpool have paved the way to this final week at the M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool where this years event is taking place.

The opening ceremony, heralding the entrance of every delegate in grandiose style on the Turquoise carpet, providing the euro fans that had travelled from all over the globe, the opportunity for their first live encounter with this years hopefuls.

Definitely a glitzy and glamorous affair with its fair share of traditional and the bizzare that we've all become accustomed to as part of that experience of Eurovision.

As we enter this final week we had the opportunity to witness the first semi final full dress rehearsal earlier today, what a fabulous experience that was watching the likes of Norway, Malta, Croatia and Moldova to name a few, deliver stunning performances and add those final touches and adjustments ahead of the live first semi final Tuesday night, 9th May 2023.

We all have our favourites but here is our choice of ones to watch for the first semi-finals.

Israel with Noah Kirel and the entry ‘Unicorn’ definitely delivered a strong performance with great staging and the strong pulsing dance beat is right in the pocket for Eurovision aficionados, and of course the unicorn hand sign seals the deal on this one.

There's no doubt that this year sees Irelands entry become a popular one, the group Wild Youth certainly provide that alt-rock pop vibe with the song ‘We Are One and we feel could be in the running. Lets hope that they manage to qualify for the Grand Final on May 13th.

If it’s all about fun and energy then Finland’s entry this year totally knocks it out of the park with ‘Cha Cha Cha’. Fluorescent pink and luminous green costumes bursting out of crates sees Kaarija strut his stuff with such gusto, this is definitely our wild card from the first semi-finals.
