Having first come onto the scene in 2010, Norway based band Friendship have had quite the ride which has included a number of impressive albums. Now into the 12th year in their journey, the band show they have no signs of slowing down any time soon, as the party has only started as they embark on their new chapter.
To give us all a flavour of that looks like, the band return with their latest single, Say No, which will leave you hooked from your your head to your toes, and to the heart of your soul within. Say No has everything I could ever dream for in a mighty fine piece of music, the easy to follow lyrics which just click, the customary infectious choruses to create some well needed listener participation and not forgetting a few tasty riffs to move your body too. If you are not on your feet or dancing or singing in some shape or form, at least by midway through the song, then man I have no words for you other than to shake my head in disappointment.
Friendship have continued to give us music we all want to listen to, and Say No is certainly a track which continues in a similar vain. It also reminds me of some of the bands I grew up listening such as Anberlin and more recent influences such as Don Broco, but with Friendships own warm and welcoming energy flowing throughout. ‘Say No, It Feels Good, How Does it Feel, Say No It Feel’s Good, Time To Get Real’ - just one of the many lyrics your attention is drawn too, but also it speaks a lot of truth, because that is exactly how I feel when I listen to this song. Does it feel good, fuck yeah!
I hope one day I am lucky enough to see Friendship perform live here in the UK, because I cannot start to comprehend how the level of energy my self and fellow Friendship fans would feel to see songs such as this, plus of course their other hits, with the band right in front of us. So if you want to get a bit of a flavour of how immense that would be, pick out your favourite music platform and start listening to Say No right now.
