Kai Undrell - Can It Get Any Better…?

Taken from the upcoming debut EP, English musician and filmmaker Kai Undrell has introduced the world to the latest single, Can It Get Any Better…? Released on the 22nd September 2023, this is one of those song which will be guaranteed to capture your attention as Kai unleashes his gift of music with the world.

With this being the first time that Kai has come onto my radar, my first impression is one of total admiration as it is the type of song which really has such a powerful energy to it. It remind of the likes of Scissor Sisters, MIKA and even a hint of Rex Orange County all rolled into one and given a dusting of Kai Undrell’s own originality, It is a song which will also have you humming along, but also plenty of opportunities for us listeners to sing lip sync along to lines such as ‘your high and dry, but you don’t know why, but it has left you in a permanent trance, so close your eyes its a long goodbye’ plus a good helping of sha la la la’s in the chorus itself.

Lyrically everything is well constructed and is not too intense, but still has the a good layer of depth, charm and genuineness to help any listener sense that they are building a real and wholesome connection with the song as well as Kai Undrell overall, which will be a nice transition for any new fan when they finally transition to the upcoming EP.

Who is this song for? I strongly believe that Can It Get Any Better…? does not fit in a particular box and that is a good thing because it allows the song to be accessible to anyone, as it should rightly be. My main advice for anyone reading this is that Kai Undrell is an artist to keep a close eye on in the coming month, and it is all thanks to singles such as this which are paving the way for Kai to becoming a rising star within the UK music scene.
