LACES - Underdog

I always love music which puts a smile on my face, so I was so happy when I knew I was going to be able to finally introduce you all to LACES and her brand new single Underdog which came out on 6th May 2022. It has only come out a couple of days ago but already I have lost count of just how many times I have listened to it on repeat.

Underdog as the song suggests is about dealing with situations when it looks like the odds are being stacked against you. Instead what LACES does through this song is turn that mentality on its head, to create a more positive reality where the narrative is changed to focus on the encouragement from other people that keeps us going.

Taking that in to consideration this makes Underdog even more empowering to listen to, and is actually quite moving especially if you really focus on the lyrics itself. Lines such as ‘everyone loves an Underdog’ might seem like something simple to the average person, but to someone going through a challenge in life, that line goes from being just a lyric in a song to being the foundation of their strength and hope when they need it the most. There is a feel good factor about listening to Underdog, and I think it is this quality which makes me love LACES even more.

I wasn’t able to find out too much about LACES online, but I think that does not really matter, because her music speaks for itself. Being able to listen to this latest single has made me even more eager to ensure I pay even more close attention to LACES and her next steps, because I guarantee you now, it is only a matter of time till she becomes one of the greatest pop-rock artists around.
