Limandi Releases Debut Album 'Fuck It'

As 2024 begins, Swedish born artist Limandi starts the year with her debut album, Fuck It which was released on 15th January 2024. If you are new to her music, there is one important you should know about this talented lady - her confidence to really bring together vulnerability and strength within the same breath, as she fills her music with the most purest form of emotions, beautiful and raw.

I had the pleasure of getting to experience the album for myself and damn it was such a dream and powerful experience throughout, with each of the seven tracks really showing different aspects and special qualities of Limandi as she shares her amazing voice and story with the world.

So make yourself comfortable as we delve right in and take a closer look. The album begins with opening track One Day I’ll Be Proud which has a chilled and soothing introduction to put you at ease before we hear Limandi herself. This song is about celebrating self-confidence, and I think Limandi expresses this brilliantly, by teasing us with her lyrics Know that one day I'll be proud of this moment, One day I'll be proud of me when,  I'm where I'm supposed to be, always, When I can be honest say here I am '. I am really a fan of how Limandi almost uses this track almost like the pages of a diary, or the deepest thoughts of an internal monologue. It’s a song which makes me just sit, focus and smile.

From here I then move onto the title track, FUCK IT, where we really see Limandi stepping into the light. When I heard it for the very first time I felt a wave of emotion come over me, already feeling that connection and resonating. This song takes a honest look at life, where we really look inwardly at ourselves and contemplate on this idea of hindsight being such a valuable thing. I know for me, there are so many times in life where things have felt so upside down, but songs like this kind of take that feeling and make you realise the wisdom behind the situation. It won’t solve the situation, but will at least set the way where you are able to start to see more clearly. I actually found it so cathartic as a song.

Next is How Fucking Hard and again another rawly honest song where Limandi just speaks directly from the mind about that question of why is life and love never as straight forward. The true champion of this song exists within the lyrics especially the chorus, ‘So sick of being someone that I shouldn’t, how fucking hard can it be to love someone, how fucking hard can it be to love you'. Being able to delve into someone’s inner thoughts, where you can really feel yourself being on the same wave length is such a special moment to experience.

Now given that the album has only just come out I don’t want to give away too many spoilers if I can help it, so I will just pick out one or two more. Hopin’ You’ll Be Fine, is one of my favourite songs on the record, because it touches on seeing that person who is struggling, and recognising what they are going through, but also this whole idea of still caring for them but from a distance.  When I hear lyrics such as I’ve seen what you’re hiding from, carrying your thoughts inside, wrapped like a waterfall in your mind, you just wanna be found, you cannot help but feel that Limandi has struck a chord within you, either from recognising yourself as the person running or knowing someone who is going through that whole experience themselves.

The final track I will mention is Family, and while this song is another of my favourites, it is also one I could also feel myself filling up with emotion, to the point of my eyes filling up with tears, because Limandi takes what would normally be a fragile song, and amplifies it to a much more higher level, adding a touch of beauty back into the middle of that rawness especially with lines such as Who cares now, now that we’re all evolving, seeing you smile, makes me forget our problems'. Just wow, that is the liquid gold of song writing that you just want to bottle up and preserve forever!

How does this beautiful collection of songs come to an end? Well your going to have to find that out for yourself. What I can share though, based on my own thoughts is that this album is a shining example of Limandi’s immense talent. There is a style to her which reminds me of the likes of Amy Winehouse, Phoebe Bridgers and Holly Humberstone, and I can already imagine this year having big and incredible things in store in the weeks that follow!

So spread the word, and show your love for the beautiful music of Limandi.
