Maius Mollis - Rest of My Life

I may be a little bias here, but what I love living in the North East is how we have such a rich and special local music scene, especially as there is so much exceptional home grown talent within our region. With that in mind I was recently introduced to the music of Newcastle based Maius Mollis and one of her recent singles Rest of My Life.

Granted that this is one of my first encounters with her music, but my I was immediately captivated when I pressed play on Rest Of My Life for the very first time. Lyrically everything is so beautifully written as Maius open her heart and her mind up to produce something which is so raw, delicate, candid but also honest and strong too. The lines, ‘The thing about you, the thing about this situation, is that I will be saying goodbye for the rest of my life’ being a prime example.

Its not just about the lyrics though, they are just one part of the equation because Maius Mollis matches this with an equally stunning voice which just grabs your attention throughout. There is no greater feeling as a music fan where you can really feel an electric spark as you connect to a piece of music, thus helping you to have a deeper and even more special bond. Those moments are both priceless and rare, but that is exactly how Rest of My Life will impact you.
