Paris Paloma - drywall

Following a string of exceptional tracks over the course of 2023, UK based singer-songwriter Paris Paloma is back with her brand new single drywall which is such a powerful, poignant and poetic song on a multitude of levels.

As someone hearing Paris’ music for the very first time, I found drywall enchanting to listen to because from a songwriting perspective I found the song striking a chord within my own mind too, as a I could relate to some of the themes that Paris was expressing in this song.

Depending on the mind frame of each listener, we will all interpret a song like drywall in our ways, but one thing we shall have in common is that a song such as drywall will be like that comforting hug from a friendly face as we navigate through the wonders of life be that physically or emotionally.

Take this verse for example:

Eggshell temperament, no emotional regulation

Hysterical baby, his gaze always evades me

Doesn't know that he is pavin' the road for my escape way every time

I scratch another line

Hearing those words are just so powerful, but the very fact that Paris is able to take such raw thoughts and give them a space to acknowledge them head on, especially when we might associate those feelings with someone we once cared for, that in itself gives me a positive first impression of Paris’ wisdom and gifts as a songwriter.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Paris has also created an official music video to accompany the release of song which elevates the experience of drywall even more.

I can definitely say after even a few listens, Paris Paloma has well and truly won me over, and I have no hesitation in giving her my seal of approval. I hope it is not too long till we are able to hear more of her music and who knows if were lucky enough we may even be able to see Paris do a mini tour of the UK before the year is out.
