Reaven Release Latest EP ‘Live Symphony Orchestra’

Updated: Dec 16, 2023

Destined to be one of the most powerful bodies of music you could ever experience as a music fan, Reaven have released their latest EP. Live Symphony Orchestra, which brings together the world of rock and the sound and splendor of orchestra into the same realms, magnifying the experience in the process.

I have never experienced anything on this scale for a long time, so I was really looking for getting stuck in even more. The EP begins with opening track Concert Intro & Burning Light which lasts an impressive 7 minutes 22 seconds. I love the band have used the power of the orchestra to their advantage, as the introduction of the song is where the momentum is growing and growing at epic proportions, making you feel like you are listening to such a spectacular film score from someone such as Danny Elfman or Hans Zimmerman.

I love that around the 4 minute mark the transition flows nicely into the music of Reaven themselves to add their good hearty rock and roll edge, with their very cool and catchy lyrics, ‘...tonight your going to dance with me, tonight your going to dance with me, I am give you just one more chance to show you can dance, tonight your going to dance with me…’. Before you know it you are chanting along, cranking that volume up high and just enjoying every single second.

This might not make sense, but to the average on looker, but this opening track feels like it’s not just Reaven in the same room as you, but they have brought the Live Symphony Orchestra too for the full panoramic, dolby surround experience, which makes it more so immersive and special. I could listen to this track all day, every day on repeat given the choice, but there are also 5 other great songs on this EP worthy of our love too.

Escape for example, the second track, is more of a song which gives you that sense what it would like to see Reaven perform live. It has an ambient feel to it, and is a song which paints a picture of what it feels like to see the band in their element, with deep and beautiful songwriting like ‘it’s crazy how the time is running fast, I don’t when things began to change but something in your eyes is no longer the same’. I think what I really admire about the lyrics is the honesty infused throughout, because it just allows the song to be extremely relatable. You could listen to this song and apply it to your own life, maybe from a situation you are facing or someone you know. I guess in a way a song like Escapes helps you to unpack all of those different thoughts that fly around our mind.

Electric Love which follows next is probably one of my favorites from the EP, because like the song name, it has an electrifying feel to it, which is so uplifting, or as the lyrics rightfully say ‘you make me want to dance’. It might have a slightly different vibe to the other two tracks, but it's still a track full of life nonetheless. Imagine if you were at one of Reaven’s shows and you wanted a show stopping track which brought big sound, plenty of energy and had people on their feet dancing to every single beat, Electric Love, for me would be that song! Hell I can even imagine the confetti cannons going off too!

After the fun and the energy of Electric Love, the EP moves on to the beautiful gentleness of Memories, which is so well written but also choreographed so brilliant. At the start you have the tender heartfelt vocals of lead singer Romeo then the song soon building momentum which that big orchestra sound. It is just such a heart warming and sincere song from start to finish.

I was in two minds whether or not to tell you about the final couple tracks on this EP, because I feel already I have given away far too many spoilers, but rather than tell you about this epic journey ends, I would combust with excitement if I didn’t at least tell you about the fantastic 5th track on the EP, My City’s On Fire. This is such a brilliant song and give it a second and you will be singing at the top of your lungs ‘my city’s on fire, through my veins again’. The chorus is just so easy to pick up, and again is a prime example of seeing what it feels like to witness Reaven at their strongest.

I will leave it there for now so that you are able to discover not just the final track but also experience, like I did, what it is like to dig into this EP for yourself. Listening to everything in its entirety has made me hungry for more of Reaven’s vibe in my life, and I can honestly say by far one of the best EP’s I have had the joy of checking out.
