Retrowolf - Yalaska

We head over to Iceland for this next recommendation, the home of Retrowolf who released their ambient new track Yalaska. Being the first time that Retrowolf has come onto my radar, I am really enjoying what I can hearing because it has alot on offer, and in a way makes me feel quite nostalgic because it reminds me of the early years of bands such as the Pet Shop Boys but with a 2023 Icelandic edge to it.

Sonically, Retrowolf is giving me impressions of someone who loves to experiment as he paints a sonic landscape and couples it with engaging and uplifting lyrics, thus making Yalaska very refreshing to listen to. Even after the song is over you will find yourself humming along to lines such as ‘10,000 lightbits and my heart is racing, bring all the power to me’.

I tried to google to see if I could find out what Yalaska meant with very little luck, however there is no denying the fact that as far this song goes there is something very energising about this song, which only grows stronger with each and every listen.

If you have not had the chance to listen to the track yet, then make sure you don’t delay any longer. You never know you might have just discovered your new favourite artist.
