Sam Scherdel - R.E.T.R.O

It has been out for less than a week, and already I am absolutely loving the brand new single R.E.T.R.O by South Yorkshire artist Sam Scherdel. Other than being from a very cool part of the world (Yorkshire always gets a seal of approval from me haha), Sam is no stranger to the Northern music scene having gained so much support from the music scene from the likes of BBC Introducing. Why? Well because his music is so vibrant and colourful and speaks for itself.

R.E.T.R.O is just another example of his impeccable talents as an artist where he is able to create this fun-loving energy which will have you addicted to his music in an instant. I will let you into something, when I heard R.E.T.R.O for the very first time my eyes lit up and I just got up out of my chair and started dancing along as I embraced the song in its entirety. If you have ever watched those classic Popeye cartoons where he eats the can of spinach and becomes strong, well listening to R.E.T.R.O very much felt like that, and you know what the 10th time of listening to it is just as fun as the first listen.

I love my lyrics as you know, so ofcourse not wanting to break tradition I cannot forget to touch upon the songwriting which we see on this single. When I look at R.E.T.R.O I like how overall it comes from a place of openness and honesty, not too heavy but still the right amount of balance to make it such a powerful song which will create a positive impact.

Others have described this single as anthemic, and I would agree with that, but would say R.E.T.R.O is the makings of quite possibly the most talented minds in music to rise up out of the UK music scene. I strongly feel that R.E.T.R.O is the catalyst for making Sam Scherdel your new favourite artist.
