It has been just over a year since US based band Sharkorama released any music, but to the joy of their fans, the band return with their brand new infectious and ever so addictive track you dunno. Released only today, I have to say it has certainly caught my attention and has a little bit of a trippy vibe to it.
When I listen to you dunno, I love how it just oozes with character and really stays on your mind, where the only way to feed the hunger is to listen to it over and over, because the 1 minute 56 second length just simply is not enough.
Lyrically you dunno at first feels quite metaphorical yet still manages to also provide you with a context that is easily understandable and as a result not only are you singing along repeatedly to the chorus ‘you dunno, you dunno’ but you also find yourself creating a synergy with the song, thus further enhancing the whole experience for you.
There are moments when you listen to the track and it feels as though it is a little bit rough around the edges, but you know what that is not too much of a big deal to me, because if anything adds an extra element of charm.
When you compare you dunno with any of the material from Sharkorama’s record Wicked Machine which he realised last year, yes it does feel like there is a different kind of energy with the newer material but given how Sharkorama loves experimenting when it comes to music, it still successfully manages to keep you on your toes.
Although as I said the song is less than 2 minutes long, listening to you dunno feels like you are getting a much welcome and needed rush of adrenaline, which I can imagine would encourage fans to embrace the song with open arms.
Now that Sharkorama has grabbed my attention, I am eager to see where the creativity takes his music to next, with you dunno being just one of the many parts of a very exciting chapter ahead.
