Tobi Adey - Flame

I have no shame admitting this, but I cannot get enough of Tobi Adey and his brand new single Flame. Based in Nigeria, Tobi has all the makings of the contemporary R&B artists you will ever come across. It is quite easy for people to assume that as a genre, R&B can be about complicated relationships and heartache, and not to discredit anyone that does that, but Tobi comes at things from a different angle, a relationship with God.

Let me make it clear you don’t have to be overly religious, because Flame is the type of song which will regardless of what your going on in your personal life will fill you with faith and hope. This then will result in not just seeing Flame as a song, but a body of work which brings strength to others when they need it the most.

Being a Christian myself and a generally optimistic and positive person, yes there are times when I even feel like I am in a place of despair. So having artists such as Tobi Adey come along with tracks such as Flame are a friendly reminder that I am not alone, and that I do not have to be held captive by negativity.

I know I am getting quite deep here with my reflections on the lyrics, but you know what I think its important to emphasise that Flame is the type of exceptional breath of fresh air to your day, which will bring you internal peace. So don’t just disregard it because it has God at the centre and instead open your heart to what Tobi has to say, as it may just be the friendly voice to make your day a little bit brighter.
