Violet Basso - Escape

On 13th May 2022, US based singer-songwriter released the music video to her brand new single, Escape, which if you have not checked it out yet, is one of the most moving pieces of music you could ever experience.

As a song, Escape is extremely deep, heartfelt and in some ways actually feels quite cathartic to listen to. I have not been able to find much about Violet online (you know me I love to find out as much as a I can about a brand new artist especially when their music impresses me), but you know in this case it doesn’t really matter, because Escape speaks for itself.

What I really admire about this track as well is that it has a lot of character and really draws you in with the narrative which in my opinion is actually quite empowering because yes while the suggestion of Escape can automatically make us think of a feeling of being trapped, there is another side to the coin - freedom.

For anyone feeling that they have nowhere to turn, what Violet Basso successfully manages to do via Escape is provide some much needed hope and optimism when they need it the most.

They say first impressions are important, and for me especially when it comes to music, it helps me to decide if something is a yey or a ney, so in the case of Violet Basso I am absolutely loving her music, as I think she has the potential to be one of the greatest female-lyricists of this lifetime.

Escape is the type of song, where as much I could tell you how brilliant it is, it would make no sense unless you go and experience it for yourself, because only then will you realise how liberating and bewitching this song is to listen to. So don’t waste another second longer and start listening to Escape, the latest single by Violet Basso today!
